Heri Shin

Heri Shin wurde in Seoul (Korea) geboren und begann im Alter von zehn Jahren mit dem Violaspiel. Bereits vier Jahre später gab sie ihr Konzertdebüt im Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall. Sie studierte bei Michael Tree und Roberto Díaz am Curtis Institute of Music sowie bei Edward Gazouleas an der Indiana University.

Als regelmäßige Aushilfe spielte sie im Philadelphia Orchestra und war Solobratschistin beim Verbier Festival Orchestra. Auf der Bühne musizierte sie mit renommierten Künstlern wie Yo-Yo Ma, Nobuko Imai, Sir Simon Rattle, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Valery Gergiev und Stéphane Denève.

Nach ihrem Masterabschluss an der Musikhochschule Lübeck war sie als Bratschistin in den Orchestern der Komischen Oper Berlin, der Deutschen Oper Berlin und beim Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin engagiert. Derzeit ist sie Gründerin und künstlerische Leiterin von Berlin Bar Classics.

Heri Shin, born in Seoul, Korea, began playing the viola at the age of ten and made her concert debut just four years later at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall. She studied with Michael Tree and Roberto Díaz at the Curtis Institute of Music, and with Edward Gazouleas at Indiana University.

She has appeared as a regular substitute with The Philadelphia Orchestra and served as principal violist of the Verbier Festival Orchestra. On stage, she has performed alongside renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Nobuko Imai, Sir Simon Rattle, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Valery Gergiev, and Stéphane Denève.

After completing her master’s degree at the Lübeck University of Music, she performed as a violist with the Komische Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. She is currently the founder and artistic director of Berlin Bar Classics.
